[Tags|, ]

Starring: Peter O'Toole, Steve Railsback, Barbara Hershey.

Cameron (Railsback) is an ex-soldier on the run. He stumbles onto a movie location at a beach resort, and megalomaniacal director Eli Cross (O'Toole) compels him to take the job of a stunt man, to replace one who earlier drowned in a dangerous stunt. While Cameron needs the cover offerred by the job and begins to fall in love with actress Nina Franklin (Hershey), he worries that the fate intended for him by Eli is the same as the fate sufferred by his predecessor.

Very funny "Backstage" comedy about making movies. Hilarious filled with one liners and great commentary about film and creativity and creative people.

Eli Cross: Because they know if they touch my film I'll kill them.
Cameron: You mean bang. (makes a gun with his hand) kill them just like that.
Eli Cross: No, I'll kill them, and then I'll eat them.

Finally an entry.... [Dec. 12th, 2005|08:00 pm]
The Film List

The Machinist is the story of Trevor Reznik, a lathe-operator who is dying of insomnia. In a machine shop, occupational hazards are bad enough under normal circumstances; yet for Trevor the risks are compounded by fatigue. Trevor has lost the ability to sleep. This is no ordinary insomnia.

Saying anything more gives stuff away.

Besides seeing a good Mind fuck movie, one should see this for the transformation Christian Bale puts himself through for the role. Both physical and the emotional transformations the character goes through.

Go rent it...
